Let It Out!What bugs you re this hobby?

Probably the only thing that bugs me about this hobby (besides cels not being made anymore or low in availability) are those that ask to buy cels from the gallery even though they're not listed for sale. Then when I reply to them saying I will sell it to them and start communications to sell it, the buyer drops off the face of the earth to be never heard from again wasting my time. If you're going to ask to buy a cel, be prepared to actually buy it.

p.s. I was even selling the cel at a good low price.

Well, in general I like everything about cel collecting, even the annoying things...it adds to the experience ^.^ It is difficult when a fellow collector gets an obvious grudge against me/my collection and tries to raise the auction price for every cel I am obviously going after! I wanted to add that I took down my wishlist because I figured these collectors look at it and figure out which cels I will bid on, yet I still have this problem and figure that these collectors are somewhat cunning and look at my cels to figure it out, sheer genious! And related to this when a collector purchases a cel I would want before I catch the update (they are online ALL the time!) and tries to sell it to me for double or triple the price they paid! Eck! It certainly does not deter me from collecting or enjoying collecting, however it is hard on my wallet to engage in auction battles...I am a poor college student after all...*she drools over her collection wondering why she is so poor!*

I guess I am one of those collectors who is guilty of emailing about cel prices when they are up for offers and not usually responding once I see the desired price. But I don't respond when I see a high price because I'm like HOLY MOLY I made a mistake, and figure they don't want to hear back from me saying Oops I didn't realize your cel was so expensive...I already feel sort of pathetic underestimating their beautiful cels and do not wish to offend them further/don't want to take up email space when those who have the money can email! This usually only happens when I attempt to discover prices for cels from series I have not yet collected from. Would it be more curtious to send an email apologizing because I cannot meet the desired price?

I think you would be better off letting them know that you cannot meet their price. You might even tell them exactly how high you can go, but do it in a polite way. Say something like, "I can only pay $XXX but I don't expect you to sell it to me for that much." Heck, they might even be willing to go that low. Either way, it makes a seller feel better to have the closure. Not as good as if you could afford the high price, but better than if you just leave them wondering.

There used to be quite a few things that bugged me but I'm over a good portion of them, including that fiasco of having coming soon pages but nothing else updated.

Although, one has crept up on me that has literally drove me bonkers. I get e-mails/PMs/messages asking for particular cels all the time, and for the most part many are polite and timely in answering back. However, there have been a few that contact asking how much is "so and so" and what cels I have for sale, including one e-mail asking if I sold Sailor Moon cels. I've responded back to all those e-mails/PMs/IMs, but then there are those that never respond back.

I don't get a "thanks but I'm not interested", nor a "wow that's too much money", or anything. It's ignored. Getting ignored is one of my biggest peeves and I do my best in not doing it to others. Have the common courtesy to write back and say no thanks, or something to that extent. Even if you need to think about it for a few days. This action above all others has literally been ticking me off because it's been happening frequently lately. It started off with a PM and now with e-mails lately.

And don't worry Bri, this is no way attacking your post. I just felt I needed to say something because I'm really tired of this method.

Oh and one more thing that bothers me, attacking nice people in public forums and discussions with no regard for their reputation. It's lame, it's old, and grow the heck up.

Ok I'm done. ^_^ Hehehe. :) Really I'm not mean, right? *gets pummeled*

I know I'm late to the party, I'm sorry ^^;

My peeves are:

-When people don't respond to offers. It's fine if you're selling it to someone else, or don't want to sell it at all. But can't you take 2 minutes to contact me and TELL me this?

-Deputy services. They're a big help, but after all those fees...

-Sellers who never lower prices. If it's been months or YEARS and the item hasn't sold, isn't it good business sense to make it a little cheaper?

-Stores who don't list cels as sold or keep sold cels on their sites. It's HEARTACHE!
