What's the most $$ you spent on a cel?

If I remember correctly, the most I've spent is $1200 for a Miyuzaki cel (Kiki's Delivery Service). When I was actively buying cels four years ago, I was spending on average between $150 to $300, though I did break the thousand dollar mark twice for two AMG cels.

Wow. It's been awhile since I've visted this thread. Back when my highest priced cel was $300. Of course, I'm insane and jumped straight from $300 to $670...no stops inbetween! LOL

Not exactly a cell...but I've spend $1200 for a cowboy be-bop/Kawamoto (character designer for Cowboy bebop, Gundam 0083, Wolfrain) print #47/50. Too much? I don't know... There isn't much data out there for stuff like anime prints.. how much do u think a anime print is worth?

is an anime print similiar to an archival print? i've seen anime archival prints around 700 to 1500 dollars. but they were from really small print runs of 25 or less. but like any expensive hobby if you can find a buyer who can pay more, more power to you. there really is no hard or fast rule on what an object is worth to me. the market can go way up if the object is in heavy demand and crash and burn when it falls out of favor. examples abound once you lived long enough, ex. beanie babies, metal lunchboxes, real estate, internet stocks, gold, the list goes on and on. as long as you are happy with the item, who cares what it is worth in the long run. just try not to spend alot of money is my only rule.

Well, it's been a while, and the $1,000 cel deal fell through. (and I can finally think about it without crying )

So, my tops still sits at $500 now.
And I have one more coming in at that price.
My Naoe MoB OP rilezu cel came in at just under that: $480

Money is very definitely a means to an end. ~_^
