What's the most $$ you spent on a cel?

What a very intersting topic.
The cel that I have spent a lot of money on was my angel cel over 400. This hobby is an awesome hobby and it is cool to own pieces of animation but it is not a cheap one. There have been times when I have gotten a few cels for great prices but cel value always goes up then down never staying constant. I really love all my cels , they mean a lot to me. I'm sure they mean a lot to you guys as well.

Well, when I first posted on this thread, my most expensive cel was $150. Since then, I bought one for $230, then $240, and mow I hit my new high of $250 with my new Miruru pan cel.

150 dollars for a Goku cel ( Saiyen )

$300 on a Sesshomaru cel if memory serves me right.

My normal limit is $150, and in fact I made it through all of 2004 without breaching this limit. I've since gone past it three times in 2005, however, twice with the same dealer in the same order. (But then I'd given him directions to find certain high-end items and stated price ranges.)

My absolute tops was somewhat past twice this limit, for one amazing cel that I had to have. I even counted the money (I had it in cash in a little envelope under my keyboard) twice during the closing moments of the auction to be sure I had it. I had it ... and I won it. No regrets, then or afterwards.

In fact, I've bid more than this amount on occasion, but for very highly desired items that eventually went for more, sometimes substantially more, than the amount I bid.

But cel collecting is a funny way of gambling: you win ... and you lose money. But you lose ... and you get to keep your money.

But then money simply is a means to an end, ne?
