who's outbidding you?
yea, I agree with SME. The cost for bidding on Rinkya has increased dramactically since some good cels from Sailor Moon have come up on the auction block. I tend to have competition from another deputy service when I bid.
I am back to collecting setti again; but, I am happy it's from a newer series "Princess Tutu". ^_^ I love setti.
I am just watching it for now. I don't expect anything right now either. Just watching and waiting. ^_^
damn it, bwahahahhaha
thanks for the tip GB :)

I think about 60% of my compitition on YJ is from deputies, the other 40% from Japanese bidders. So most of the time it is deputy compitition but when a Japanese bidder gets in the hunt it is usually for high end items only and they bid very agressively for them. Do I think they overpay for the items? Sometimes yes but mostly no. They seem to know exactly what they want and bid accordingly to get it.
Recently I was outbidded on a cel i really wanted by a rinkya user... grr. lol I can not tell when if it is a japanese user or not when it is something other than rinkya and etc. i usually do a search on the user name to see if it comes up on any english sites. Right now... a japanese bidder is wanting some cels i want.. i can not lose.. u_u lol
i must be the only person on rubberslug who doesnt bid on YJ!
something about having to go through Rinkya or a similar service always turned me off. ONCE i purchased a douga from Anime-link (the international signed for postage was way too expensive, but i REALLY wanted this douga!). after i paid they informed me that the douga had already been sold, and offered me a replacement. i wont be doing that again :D
so now i only use ebay (and listen to offers from other collectors of course!)
as far as ebay goes, i keep logs of everyone who bids on Akira cels, and their highest bid. even if i'm not interested in buying the cel myself. its not as time consuming as you'd think, but is very handy to have when something you like comes up.ive only been buying/logging cel bids for a year, but can already see patterns emerging in the regular names that pop up, and what their spending limit usually is.
but thats not to say you wont get that wildcard lunatic jumping in at the last minute with pockets full of money!
