who's outbidding you?

This is an interesting thread ^_^ I get often outbid by someone at foreign deputy services.... I think Japanese bidders do not bid too high but people at foreign deputy services bid really high :( :(

But most of time my friends let me win if I really want it ^_^

When I get outbid, it's by Japanese bidders about 80 percent of the time. This isn't surprising because I rarely bid on mainstream items these days.

"Who tends to overpay more (by your personal experience)?"

Japanese bidders pay more for what I'm after now. But I think the Japanese bidders I'm often up against are bishoujo gamers (because of the other items they've gotten). Bishoujo gamers tend to be very character-centered. I've learned that these character-centrics can be the most dangerous people to go up against (especially the Sentimental Graffiti fans o_O;; ).

Argh I know my arch-enemy and nightmare when it comes to YJ is a certain dude called 'nicofromtokyo'... I mostly collect from series of the 70's (and also some popular ones like DB), but this person always outbids me, and he's always bidding in like 20 auctions at the same time. He/she must have some really deep pockets or maybe works for a store or something like that... but most of the times the Japanese fans outbid me. Where do they get all that money??? O_O

It's pretty much the same collectors with me. Since I collect from a sought after anime, the competition is always tough. Sometimes I myself am amazed I win at all on YJ, especially within the recent past weeks. I know who my competitors are, and a few of them always put in some absurd number, so it's one of those compensating situations where you know you'll have to put in an insane bid to even get a shot at winning. I know I've had a few from Japan compete, but they usually stop once the prices get crazy, and by all means I think deputy service users are the ones that make the prices outrageous, at least from what I've seen. But that's my 10 cents. :)

bulma_gt, i believe nicofromtokyo is a european deputy service. so you're really bidding against all of europe...lol.
