What's the most $$ you spent on a cel?

Oh, I think I paid somewhere between $500-700 for one of my cels. I've got too many hobbies. I figured that once I'm ruler of the free world, I can buy a myself a nice colletion of anime cels then... so I've been pretty quiet collecting things lately.

Heh, thought I should tot up my cel purchases for April- we're only 16 days into the month and my total's been $1408.25 so far... Time to rethink the spending strategy methinks! Heh man, we'll be joining that bread line in no time ;)

Geez ... I don't even want to think about my total amount spent for the past month. It would probably make me want to curl into a fetal position under my desk and cry.

As for my most expensive cel, I replied in the weblog, but thought I'd share here, too, for what it's worth. My "most expensive" mark still sits at $500. The second most expensive is now $350, and third most ... $300. I actually have a couple of cels --- one production cel and one rilezu --- that were around $350.

When I first started collecting, I couldn't imagine spending even $100 on a cel. Sadly, those days have passed. Don't get me wrong ... that's still a significant amount of money to me, and I have to think long and hard about spending that much ... and even longer and harder about spending over the $100 mark. But, my addiction quickly grew to the point where spending more did not phase me quite as much. I'm not sure what that says about my personality ... but I'm pretty sure it's nothing good.

*insert deep & heavy sigh*

But, at least I can look around and see I'm in good company! That helps -- a lot! ^_^

My most expensive to date is 350.00 and I just got that last month. I am along the lines as some of the others as when I started spending 100.00 on a cel would make me squirm and really think about it. Now if I spend 100 or less I get really happy that I found a cel at a bargain. :::sighs::: I just started collecting Inuyasha awhile ago so I am sure that the max I spend on a cel will go up soon.

The most expensive piece that I have ever purchased was an $1100 Last Unicorn cel. Felt so emotionally sick over spending that much, I quickly sold it.

One that I currently have in my gallery that was the second most expensive.. would be my "D overhears Charlotte" cel.

As a rule, I do not like to spend over $500 on a piece. I have to really WANT it, to go more. ^^;;
