What's the most $$ you spent on a cel?
That's a great Macross opening shot you have there Fireeye. Can I ask where your purchased it?

Diligence on Yahoo!Japan rewarded me with it. I've never seen another from this sequence! Of course, that background is unmatching... there is no background for that scene IIRC. It needs restoration, as it has lost paint and several really faded lines.
Well, as a beginning collector, I pretty much cringed at any item that would cost me more than $100. And even now, I still have monetary limits put my series so that I don't overspend. Anything over $300 has to be a true wishlist, so I don't have much production artwork over this mark. Right now, I have maybe 5 or 6 cels/sketches over $800. Currently, I have only two cels over $1,000, although I have been tempted on several occasions to overbid on auctions. So far, so good. Thus far in this hobby, my average cel purchases are still generally around or less than the fifty dollar mark.

When I first started I had a gut feeling $100 would be the minimum starting price for a Dilandau cel. On occasion it is-
So far the most I've ever paid is $218, and that was for a particularly good one I always wanted. I set a limit at $150, but try not to rise over $100 per cel, if I can help it. Sometimes you get lucky. I once won a multiple cels package on YJ. The overall price was very low, so the average cost for the cels was about $25 each. I usually pay around $100 for a Dil Cel.
I don't believe a Dilandau cel should be priced for anything more than $200- I would never buy one above that level, and I'm one of his biggest patrons. But hey- let the market decide the price.
$1500.....................
You can probably figure out on what too ^^;!
