Genga/Douga or Cels? Which do you prefer

i prefer both. if it's a certain cg series then i look for good genga sets from it. if it's an anime that stll does cels, i want the cel.

I would have to say it is a tie. I love both cels and genga/douga. I will purchase a genga/douga if I like it enough even if there are cels available from that series. I value them just as much personally as my cels. There are some cels where I like the genga/douga more than the actual cel....(havent figured that one out).

I vastly prefer cels. When a series has cels, I want many of them. But with a CG show, I'd be happy with one nice shot of my favorite character. Though it seems cels are easier to find. ^^;

I vastly perfer cels. I really dislike most sketches from cg animation they're just so undetailed and utterly lacking in emotion most of the time. Also I really don't think I need an entire sequence most of the time just one piece of art in a sequence is generally enough for me.

On the other hand there are some absolutely gorgeous traditional production sketches (especially the ones from anything CLAMP) that I like better than the cels that go with them. So it's not that I don't appreciate the beauty of sketches. I just like cels better.

While sketches make me happy and often remind me of the manga which the series was based on, I've gotta go with cels. They're just so darn colorful. Many of the current CGI shows make me sad because I can never own any of the characters in their true colors (some have the most gorgeous color blending in their eyes!!!)
