When Should A Gallery Be Deleted?
Ok, I have spent the last couple of weeks looking at EVERY RS gallery from A-Z and all the ones inbetween. So I have a question..when should an RS gallery be deleted? I know that everyone can't update their gallery regularly especially with todays economy, but I came across galleries that haven't been updated in 4,5,6,7, and even 8 years! During my visits I wrote many feedbacks and sadly a huge amount of them came back as undelivered and a lot came with no response at all ?? They weren't even "do you want to sell your cels" questions they were compliments on their gallery I even came across galleries that said "all cels have been sold" or even better the galleries that have no cels at all. Should there be a rule about how long a gallery can go without an update? Again, I am not talking like a three year break but the ones that have no activity for 4 or more years and at the very least the ones that say all cels have been sold. Why waste RS space if you are done collecting?

I concur! I've found quite a few RS galleries were also abandoned and no longer cared for. I am also referring to the ones with no content as opposed to just being last updated over four years ago (which is a pretty good indicator IMO the person doesn't care about maintaining their gallery). Sadly the contact information for these galleries are all dead as well, so there is no way to reach the owners. Perhaps the mini-mods can help out and sweep some of these galleries if we post a listing in a thread like this? Doing so might free up some space for Jason too. Just a thought. Anyone else have some constructive ideas? Please share! =)
I'd rather see the artwork in an old non-updated gallery than to never see it again if it's deleted.
It's nice to see what was available at one time or rare and unique shots that you'll never find anywhere else....and my first post to the forum in all these years -- just felt the need to post on this subject :DD --

why should any gallery be deleted some people may no longer collect or be finished as it were some might be busy. who cares its not hurting anymone
I'm torn between both sides on this one. On one hand, I like seeing the stuff people had (but in many cases, it's already moved on to new homes). On the other hand, you usually cannot contact these folks. I think it might be nice to see an 'inactive' tag for galleries that have not been touched (and users haven't logged in) for 4+ years, but where the gallery still has legitimate content. If the gallery is empty, I see no reason to leave it up -- these really should be deleted. Just my 2 yen ^_~.
