This is, of course, just my opinion. Take it for what it's worth.
You know me - I buy into whatever you have to say - no matter what it is. ^_^
Well, I am going to go against the crowd here. Why?? Well, because I can. ^_^ I have to agree somewhat with what she is saying here, only in as much as if someone has a cel and the matching sketch, then they should not sell them seperately. If she wants to make back what she paid, then raise the price of the cel to reflect the sketch. I agree with the whole non-matching background not being worth much, however, it certainly does add to the prettiness. ~_~
As far as your eBay id coming into play, you need to realize that this is a pretty tight community here, and if you piss people off that are well known in the community, then you are going to piss off the whole community. @_@
I am the one who sold the cel to her yesterday, and she was very polite throughout the whole tranaction and paid for it immediately. I am going to say what others have been wanting to say, though, and that is you can't email people and make offers on things, convince them to do payment plans, and then back out. That and excuses piss people off more then anything, and will get you on the blacklist faster then anything. You just need to learn some cel etiquette, and not post about people who have been doing this a lot longer then you, and have strong ties in the cel community. Reason?? Because if you do, whatever you say is wrong. >_
Now, as Jenn said - this is just my opinion. Take it for what it is worth. ^_^

This is a reply to everyone. I have only just joined this gallery, yet everyone seems to already "know" me. I accept that all of these areguments are logical but I am rather upset that because I had a disagreement with one seller, everyone now knows about it. I see what you all are saying and agree. I am open enough to admit when someone has a better opinion than me. That is one of the major reasons why I am here. I want to learn more and if my opinions are set in stone than that can't very well happen. As I stated, I apologized to this seller for what happened between us. As I have done nothing here but praise her cels and recommend ebay as a whole I would really appreciate it if I was not seen in such a low light. I did not say she was a bad seller nor do I intend to. I recommended her as a seller and simply expressed my opinion with regard to pricing. I like this site very much and I do not wish for one incident with one seller to ruin this experience. As I stated, I admitted I was wrong and apologized. I do feel that I should be a member a little while longer though before I have to be redeemed. That experience was an unfortunate one but one that I wish to put behind me. I have done nothing since but praise cels and I always pay responsibly. As I did not send emails out to other protesting her cels, I wish that those who have heard of me get to know me. One incident in the middle of college should not follow me for the rest of my life. I did not pursue her here and insult her, nor do I intend to. I put it behind me. I wish the same courtesy. If this is too much then simply let me know. I will leave. I like this site but do not wish to make anyone uncomfortable. I would like to remain here and not be known for this but rather for who I am but if this is not possible then I will have no choice but to leave the site. I trust you will all inform me if this is the case.

Soph,
I don't think it's quite fair to expect that the price should be lower because there isn't a matching background or a sketch. A lot of artwork, especially bank cels, do not come with either. To state that the buyer should give you a discount on these items is not fair because you'll be hard pressed to find many sequences with matching anything.
A lot of collectors buy artwork from a particular series or episode because there is something special that draws them to that particular scene. Fans have put a greater attachment on certain characters and scenes, so, it's easy to expect that artwork from these scenes would have a higher demand. Most fans who are just looking for anything from a particular sequence won't expect a full package because, as many of these shows are 10+ years old, finding it may be next to impossible.
I agree that it doesn't always sit too well with me when I see people who purposely split a cel from its sketch or break up sketch sets in order to make a quick buck. You'll find a lot of collectors who feel the same way. But, they have the right to do whatever they want with their artwork, even if you don't agree with their methods. If it bothers you so much, you are always free to not buy from them and spend your money on items from sellers whose business practices you favor.
I think you guys all made your point... :I You know, I was a stupid newbie myself, once...
