i am so sad......
well fellas its been about 3 months now....and i have to admit i was able to acquire some macross dyrl cels that i really liked; however, i still seem to fail at obtaining the cels im willing to sell my right N#t for!!! this morning i lost a bid on yahoo.com for 3 sketches that i was willing to shell out good money for, but unfortunately my bid i placed was not processed through (im waiting for rinkya's reply regarding the reason why my bid was not processed through) they did told me though that even if my bid went through, I would of lost because the other guy's bid was higher than mine,(wouldnt disclose the amount) im more sad than angry.... i really wanted this bad!!! and it sucks my bid did not go through, cuz at least i would of saw that i was outbidded and i could of done something about it! (BTW, i did not use the bid while you sleep option, i actually woke up at 5:20 am in the morning to do this) metaphorically, i still had many many many more daimond pointed bullets to bid! ...well fellas, this is really discouraging.... the search continues...BUT, knowing that one sketch, cel, background will never leave the other winner again...really sucks!
i apologize for all the complaining im doing, im sure its annoying...but i cant keep this in. just gotta vent to ya'll! -Thanks for hearing me out friends!

Sorry to hear about your auction loss. I do hope you will be able to find what you are looking for!
I've never had a delayed bid with Rinkya. When I place a bid, it has always gone through instantly. I hope they will be able to give you an answer as to why your bid was delayed. That must have been really frustrating.
Good luck with your search. I'm sure another nice sketch will pop up eventually.

yeah im sorry too. :(
i know i had a similar thing happen to me last week.
i saw a killer cel that i really wanted to get (ok, ill admit, it was a she-ra cel but it was a REALLY great one) and on the site it said the seller would only take paypal. well i email the guy and ask him if he would consider taking a MO (since i dont have paypal) well time went by and the listing ended with no response and i figure well he just ignored me because the listing says only paypal.
well i check the email today and he said yes he would accept the MO! X_x he sent it to the email address instead of to the ebay address (yeah its confusing. sorry. but usually ebay gets the copy of the message so i check it there- shoulda checked the stupid email ARGH!!!!!!).
ugh. well its okay. there's always great stuff coming down the pipeline. thats the great part about online auctions, you never know whats going to come up next. ;)
(so dont let it get you down)
(btw, theres a picture of the "one that got away' on my wishlist now *sniff*)

what normally happens is that when you place you bid it's less than the current high bid or their reserve hence your bid will not be accepted by YJ. It's not a problem with Rinkya.
I know the buyer of those you were after and do understand that high end macross sketches like those can easily reach $1k each.
You must understand you have not picked a cheap series to collect and it gets very competive and those who have larger resources and are willing to spend them end up in a bloodsport over the best ones.
Do be prepared to spend a lot more to compete on what you want and do not wait till the end for YJ has an auto extend feature that eliminates sniping bids for each bid made extends the time by 10 minutes.
Rusted180 what happened to you is a little quirk in how the Rinkya system works on extended time auctions when multiple Rinkya users bid on the same item. YJ only extends the time when a bid from a new user is placed. But when two Rinkya bidders are bidding they are using the same Rinkya ID on YJ. So when you get outbid by another Rinkya user, YJ doesn't see it as a new bidder just a raised maximum bid by the same user. So therefore no extended time. I suspect your last bid didn't go through because the time had already expired on the auction when you expected to have some extended time to play with.
I am sorry for the way in which you lost the auction. The very same thing has happened to me before. I just wanted to let you know what I believe happened so you can plan for it in the future.
