macross cels are really hard to come by and i'm still looking to this day for a affordable one from the dyrl movie so welcome to the club.

although i am glad for the sketches and autograph i have from mikimoto and kawamori and even the fancels i had made. nothing really beat a cel from your favorite scene in your most favorite series held in your hands. some day....some day....

There is still value to sniping on YJP, tho it is diluted compared to eBay. One situation is where another bidder 1) does not bid his true maximum bid and 2) is not watching the auction end. Another situation is where another bidder is hoping for relisting at a lower price if an auction goes un-bid on, and will only bid if someone else does; in that event, putting in the only bid at the last minute cuts the floor out from under the other potential bidder.

Bid as late as possible, and when you do, bid your maximum. And then go back to sleep because you probably dragged yourself out of bed before sunrise to do it.

Thanks for the comment on my gallery rusted180. I would be interested to see what you have in your collection. Ever think of creating a gallery here? I am sure there are other fans, Macross and general anime art, who would like to see your collection as well. I am also familiar with your user ID from previous auctions so I know we have done battle in the past. I believe you even bested me on a few of them.

I don't have any plans at this time to go to Anime Expo. The only time I have been was in '05. I spent entirely way too much, lol! The only dealer there at the time with any quality in Macross was Anime Link. I bought from them exclusively. A few items that were not listed on their site either.

What you are experiencing is the new collectors growing pains. All of us have lost bids for items we want on YJP due to any number of reasons and at the time it hurt. But, the thing is once it is done. Based on my experiences I cannot speak for anyone else, you have to learn to LET IT GO. Otherwise it will eat at you and the only thing you will develop is HUGE resentment which is totally counterproductive.


There will be other chances to build your collection rusted180. Collecting cels is not a race, it is a looooong marathon. As such, stay cool and optimistic... build good cel karma and one day something within your range will appear.


Lastly, come on post whatever you've collected thus far on RS! You have an account and some cels, now really join the community instead of looking from the outside in. Jump in and really join the community! :)
