Sailor Moon Flamers
I just thought that I would share my experience in this area and give you a happy example to think about.
I recently got feedback on my gallery from another person who collects cels from my favorite show (Macross). He recognized several cels in my gallery that he had bid on and lost and realized it was him and me who had gotten into a few bidding wars lately. As it turns out I had won some auctions from him recently and he had won some auctions from me. The point of his email was that he wanted to call a truce. Specifically, there was a cel currently on auction that he really wanted and he assumed that I was going to bid on it. He made me a friendly offer and asked kindly if I would not bid on it since I do already own a cel from the same cut. He of course understood if I refused and intended to bid on the cel and playfully warned that the bidding war would then be on.
I had no problem what-so-ever in passing off on this cel and was happy to hear from him. I in turn informed him of the cels I intended to seriously bid on and in the end everyone got what they wanted and was happy.
I hope all of us can have good experiences like this with our fellow cel junkies and friends here on Rubberslug.
Can feedback be filtered? Maybe keep the bad words out?
-Making Feedback possible only to Members may slow it down, beacuse if they have a gallery, they won't risk it..cause maybe they will get banned....
-Of course, there will always be people who hate whoever has a better object, in this case a cel...Closing down your gallery, or putting on passwords, makes the Flamer win in a way....
Bad words?
"I hate your gallery and your SM cels are ridiculous, take them, shove them up your rear end and die" - there is not one "bad word", but the combination would still make a flame.
I rather suggest the feedback be Members only. Unfortunately that decreases the amount of useful feedback as well.
And you're right about closing down and passwording. The one being flamed shouldn't be the one to curl up in a corner.
My best advise would be: ignore those brainless flames. Delete them, block the sender.
Aww...yes..didn't take that into account...
Your right..Making it password only is a bad and good at the same time..so "just delete the emails" ^-^

Perhaps Jason could work it so that people can "turn off" the feedback option. That way no one would be able to leave them feedback, but their gallery would still exist. And of course the mods/admin know the e-mails linked to each account so they could still e-mail folks if there was some kind of site violation...
