I personally don't like the idea that only registered users could send comments. I think that might turn off new collectors. Plus, it sounds like someone is giving out a bunch of bad ratings too, and that could only be done by a member anyway, right? So that wouldn't necessarily cure the problem.

I'm usually just a lurker and my collection must be small enough to slip under the radar, because I've never gotten any nasty emails or anything like that. These emails must have pretty bad, because I can't imagine what someone could say to make me want to give up collecting. I too would be curious in hearing what these people have said, but maybe that's just the gossipper in me.

The problems ranged from giving bad rating to Obsenity laced emails from people who were outbid for a cel they wanted. And everything in between.

So what? When I get a flame mail, I give them a spicy reply or delete them without replying. That done, problem solved. Next flame mail: delete, too.

Ofcourse, when it gets too much, I would publish the senders. But in the end, I don't think it's any more mature to wail over such childish emails than to write flame mails. No offense, but I've been through worse problems in life than some giant baby calling me an asshole or something.
By complaining on a public forum, it makes them look like someone important, and they'll only find more pleasure in molesting you. When someone insults me, I have 3 easy solutions at hand:
1. Ignore them, knowing I'm superior to such retards.
2. Reply in a way they HURT. When you know them, that's easy. Like, "an alcoholic with no family like you should talk" or such. Shut's them up. Or makes them go ridiculous in their retorts, very funny to watch.
3. When they stand in front of you and you know you can win them, just make it eccho "WHACK!!" and walk on... Did that today when an old fart insulted me BADLY by hitting on me.
But certainly not go "Waaaaa, I'm being insulted, I'm leaving" in public. Only gives them fun.

I think the vast majority of those who choose to partisapate in Rubberslug want it to be a FUN experience.
Cel collecting should not be a bloodsport.

I still feel that if someone who can not be civil and insists in acting in the ways that led to this thread, the only recourse should be being exposed and allow peer pressure to change their ways in order to partisapate or be marginalized.
