Slowing down...

I'm almost at my 8th year of collecting- I can't believe it!

I've been through all the cel stages, and now I'm at the point where my collection is stablized to what I want to keep from now on, and what can be sold. All I need are a few cels then I can almost die happy.

I suppose when you've been in the 'game' for so long, you pretty much know what you want, so you sit patiently for months even years to get that rare and elusive cel.

Now that most anime are CGI, sketches are the thing for collectors. The cels that were once bountiful are all locked up and hidden away in dark places. So unless you have unfinite patience, you won't see any primo cels for a loooong time. Hopefully by that time I'll be out of school and making real money so that I can get those elusive cels.

I recommend "The DA VINCI CODE" for starters, by Dan Brown-- (*Special Illustrated Edition).

I don't think that I'll ever be done.
I used to collect cels from different shows that I like but a while ago I decided to collect only cels from one of my favorite anime (Gundam 0080). This also because those cels are rare and don't come around often. Kind of a challange.
I sold most of my other cels and have kept some with a certain emotional value attached to them.

I remember having a perfect, happy and round collection. Then I got financially screwed up so lots of the more precious cels had to go. I still have the dream cel and a few other major wishlists, but soooo many had to go :(

It's a sad, sad day when you have to sell off your "babies".

Though I think i've been out of collecting for nearly a year. I don't even have the craving anymore - so weird!

personaly my anime cel collection is done excet the 2 i feel i will nevwer have the money for well at least the 2 ive wanted since i started collecting

ive been moving on to comic book art unless a pretty cel cetches my eye as the mars collection is a work in progress :) also i collect more american then anime and superheros are always highly sought after
