Most of my anime DVD collection is stuff I've never seen/heard about anywhere, I usually go by the cover art and general synopsis of the series/film. I may see one seller in the US or Asia who has one or two DVDs I want but to save on international shipping costs and bulk order deals I usually buy 12-20 at a time.
This is often a pretty good way of doing things because I get to see series I wouldn't normally consider. Mind you, buying so much means that I don't often have the time to watch it all- I'm waiting for the time when I get 1 year off work! *heh heh*
The last series I watched was Yugo the Negotiator and I'll start on Sci-Fi Harry soon. Has anyone else seen these?

all the time,
most of the anime I buy I have never seen before. Most of my friends aren't into anime so I fend for myself on finding what to watch, not haveing word of mouth I tend to go off the art (box and cels/drawings), blubs of the box or previous works by those involved. unfortuneately this dosen't always work out, then I try and spread the afulness to those who do watch anime. (hahahah, just kidding)
on the same wavelength with cels if I like the cel I'll buy it and if I aquire a couple from the same show it may spur me to buy the anime. and most times i'm pleazed with that method.
