What got you hooked

That's an easy one. It was Magic Knight Rayearth (if that wasn't obvious from my gallery). There are a lot of specialty video stores in San Francisco, and I had passed by the anime sections of the stores many times and said "These looking interesting, I should rent one someday..." Finally had a block of 3 days off from work and decided to pick up one DVD... The next thing I knew, I had purchased the entire boxed set.

The cel collecting started with an eBay search and a single cel of Hikaru and Mokona. The next thing I knew was that I couldn't get enough of CLAMP anime. After a couple years, you start looking for hankens and original artwork. One seriously needs to protect the pocketbook from these lovelies.

Who knows what it will be next as most shows are going CG.

My friend from high school introduced me to the world of anime, but the first show that got me hooked was Inuyasha, and the rest is history. I watched all the animes on Cartoon Network and Tech tv, and now I buy dvd's of different animes they don't show on tv here. I am currently into Bubblegum crisis now. ^_^

My first cel was from Inuyasha, and it's one of Kagome.

I am part of "G?n?ration Albator", the Harlock-generation, named after the people who got to know anime when it hit France in the late 70's.

I grew up with Harlock, Cobra and Cutey Honey. Later followed by Saint Seiya and Urusei Yatsura.
Recently, my interest got revived by the fantastic Hunter x Hunter and Weiss Kreuz.

I blame my best friend, who runs the CHX-gallery on this site, for getting me addicted to cels. ^_^

I started liking anime in the 6th grade, when Sailormoon was first released on TV in the United States. My best friend watched it - and got me hooked. I also attended meetings of the University of Michigan's anime society (it's open to the public), so I was exposed to a great number of shows not available in the USA.
I did not collect cels until 8 years later. A friend of mine was into this whole "cel thing", so I decided to buy her a cel for Christmas. Since shipping from Japan was expensive, I decided to get one for myself...and thus my collection began. *sigh* I haven't regretted it yet :)

I used to watch Zodiac Warriors when I was younger (in spanish, and liked the gore,) Than years later I began watching Sm....that's how I got into anime....

I got into cels one day, when I was looking for Inuyasha pics on the net...I passed trough a site that said "Will give Kidney" for this Kagome bloody Kimono cel....I said "What in the heck is a cel", So than I bought a batch of cels...
