cel damage types?

I just got a cel today and it was stuck to wax paper for some reason. It was really hard to get off and i would not have bought the cel if the seller had mentioned it.

Working on sales. No ETA yet, but I do want to double-check that I'm not omitting any obvious imperfection types. Please examine this list, as it will most likly be a list we will live with for a while (in regards to buying and selling cels). Pessimistic descriptions will make happy and informed buyers. The emphasis behind our sales will be accuracy in descriptions. It's the one thing we can do better than anyone else because we're designed for selling one specific thing.

traceline - retouched
traceline - faded
traceline - discolored
acetate - spotting
acetate - stuck (acetate)
acetate - stuck (sketch)
acetate - stuck (other)
acetate - torn
acetate - dented
acetate - creased
acetate - scratched
acetate - discolored
acetate - bent corners
acetate - staples or staple holes
acetate - tape or tape residue
acetate - miscut or trimmed
acetate - accidental paint transfer
acetate - warped
paint - chipped or missing
paint - retouched front
paint - retouched back

sketch - non-matching sequence

If a particular damage type doesn't make any sense or needs to be clarified, please suggest a correction. Thanks.

Now that I think about it, the list is actually longer than I thought. Which of these can I combine? I'm thinking of consolidating general acetate damage (torn/dented/creased/scratched/bent/warped) to "in frame" and "out of frame". Any other suggestions?

edit - eh, on second thought that might not be such a great idea. you all decide.

How about a category for surface damage/tears to a sketch (as can happen when they're detached from a stuck cel)? Or would that fit under "sketch - torn"? This is probably the most common type of damage to our sketches.

[Edited to add: Oops, just realized that Waffles already mentioned this, but I still think it's a good idea :) ]

Also, how about a category for sketches that are wrinkled/bent/rumpled (as can happen to paper that's been handled a lot, without actually being folded or torn)?

I don't really see the need to consolidate damage categories, but I think it would be handy to be able to give more detail about the extent of any damage types you mention.

Good ideas.

However, this system is more complicated than I originally suspected. I really want 1) lots of damgage types, which hooks into a translation system similar to FF11 or PSO if anyone out there has played either of those two games, 2) a comprehensive list of anime series/ovas/movies which I am in the process of harvesting from imdb, and 3) to do it the right way the **first** time, unlike some other older parts of this site.

In the meantime, I'm going to work for the rest of the day to put up a temporary sale page. I *want* to get this done today, but it might be a tomorrow definitely thing. I won't leave town for Thanksgiving until there's *something* workable up.

It's the consumerism season, after all, and lots of folks out there are in the mood for both selling for present money and buying for actual (self-gifted, presumably, unless you have rich friends) presents.
