cel damage types?
Cels :
*Paint on the front of the cel from another cel
*Paint on the front of the cel because of a later correction
*correction layer
*tracelines with paper fibers on them
*spotted tracelines
*scratches
*original matching background, copy original matching background, unoriginal background, copy unoriginal background
As for sketches :
*miscoloured paper
*dented surface
*creased or bent
*holes
*tears
*paint
*original or copy
Not really referring to damage here, just more description-- full sketch vs. partial sketch. One of my big pet peeves is when a seller states the cel comes with a sketch (not mentioning if it's full or partial) and it's just a partial sketch (of a leg or mouth usually). -_-;;
Cels and/or sketches: Creased
I have one. ^_^
Hmmm.... now here's a depressing list to contimplate ^^;;;;

Thanks for the list! Keep adding to this if anything else comes to mind.
It may be depressing, but I figure that if we're going to be selling actual cels, we're going to do it the right way -- provide no opportunity to fudge the description about exactly what someone is getting in the mail. Cel collectors know that cels are a byproduct of the creative process and aren't going to be perfect. However, it is my opinion that we need to be as concise as possible about the product. Instead of relying on sellers to describe what they have in a big blank, we'll provide checkboxes that let you check to see if your cel for sale has any defects that may cause concern. Consider it opt-out versus opt-in descriptions.
There will definitely be a way to rate a seller on accuracy of description. None of that thumbs up, thumbs down silliness -- our evalutions (not available in early version I'm working on) will be precise. In return, we minimize surprises.
I was about to announce that I had completed a preliminary version of this during the weekend, but I really do have to rewrite a big part of it. It's a long story, but consider it another week or two of delays for a section that has been delayed for two years or so already. *shrug*
btw - yeah, I thought that was some kind of oxidation of the acetate material, but you're probably right. I'm assuming that in big stacks of cels with wet paint, there's enough moisture and humidity to make spots.
