How many gallery transfers?
I started at geocities (site is still there), but had to stop updating new items as I ran out of room there(prob w having large collection).
I've been collecting less than a year. Yes, this was my first gallery. I chose to make one here because it was so easy, plus it put me in a database where other people could see my stuff.
This was my 1st gallery. I think I bought a cel on e-bay and checked out the sellers about me page where it linked to their gallery on RS. I stayed away from web design like the plague in college (art school). Everyone and their brother was going into it in the late 90's and I figured the boom would never last. I was so gratefull that there was such a free and easy way to get a gallery up and running. I've still never seen a better gallery making site - even the art community's sites are worse. Great job Jason!
I first got into collecting for myself when I was shopping around for a friend's Christmas present. I kept getting these "rubberslug" sites when I was searching google looking for cels to buy [and was getting frustrated as none of the owners of these "rubberslug galleries" were selling their cels!]
But now that I own cels of my own, I adore this site. It makes displaying cels so easy and gathers collectors together at the same time. Maybe when I get time, I'll make my own website dedicated to my cels, but I'll probably always have an RS gallery.
I'd never considered getting my own website (what was I going to put on it?). I had been collecting cels for a while before I stumbled across RS. I was searching for dealers and information about caring for cels when "Rubberslug" kept popping up, a name that neither indicated anime or cels. What really amazed me was that it was free and I didn't have to know how to do much. It still amazes me @.@.
