Desperately needed new feature

Wow, that's a neat feature, thanks ^^. That isn't quite what I meant, though. Someone could still chop that off and use the images. What I meant was to password just the large scans and cel info pages. Sortof like what I setup here before mtu.net's ftp was replaced with an sftp server I've pretty much given up on at this point, since I can't find a decent sftp client.

In this case, it's just using an htaccess file. The theory is that people can't take what they don't have permission to see, but they can still see the thumbnails, which would be *really* hard to make an image off of. Right now we can either password both the small images and info pages together, or not password them at all. Is it possible for there to be something in between?

You know what Jason, don't worry about it. I'm sure that most people would find those upgrades more than adequite. I'm just going to take my gallery down. It's mostly for me, and it's just not fun anymore.

BTW E, if you really want the whole story that badly, email me. I'm not going to clutter up forums with this anymore.

Sure, wouldn't be too hard to do. I was thinking of making a full-size blowup version password protected.

You sure you want to take down your gallery? I like it. I always send people there when the topic of Slayers cels comes up. I picked that cel of yours as a demo because I like the character. *shrug*

Is the concern that people are making fancels from the cels on RS websites? Or just image stealing in general? I'm a little behind the curve when it comes down to current events in cel collecting...

I don't really want to take it down, but I also don't want to invite more trouble. If you can protect just the large scans, I'd probably bring the thumbs back on-line. If we can pick how small to make the medium images, it would be even better.

The big issue for me is fancel copies on ebay. General image theft is annoying, but it's only when someone attempts to *exactly* copy my cels with no plainly visible signature that it truely becomes a problem with me. It's already happened to my favorite inuyasha cel; I *really* don't want to see one of my slayers cels on ebay like that. Unfortunately, the only way to really prevent that is to not have the large scans publically available -_-; I'd prefer to have the available image smaller than a screencap, to make them less enticing. Screencap fancels will look different than ones based off of real cels, since the whole cel is never filmed. Wanted to make a new post just in case no one would bother to read this far down, this is important stuff. The whole eBay thing without any respect for the collector bothers me. A lot. Copyright issues aside, that's just plain tasteless. We will combat this with strategery.
