Auto-scale image sizing broken

Have a lot of things on my plate, I'll get to some kind of fix in the next few days.

The files have gotten unmanageable. GIFs in particular are not easy to manage. The likely fix for those will be to grandfather in old ones but either not allow new ones or dimension-lock them in HTML and size-lock them to

All my images uploaded onto the site are JPG. The animations are GIFs, but they are not housed on the RS site. Rather, they are uploaded to Photobucket and then exported to my RS pages using html markup language (img src= etc.)

It's possible that some thumbnails are GIFs, but they are mostly in the 30-50 KB size, with some going up to ca. 115 KB. This does not seem to be related to the issue here, though.

Bug squashing today, I'll try to look at it. Finished rewriting most of the big systems outside of sponsorships (these will be more automated instead of waiting on me) and market transactions (really buggy, but the core of it is working). Hoping for another code push today.

Hi! Maybe you can help me out here with some info:

Please post some URLs from your own galleries with the following:

1) URL
2) What your relevant image settings are (autoscale, etc.)
3) What is the image doing now what you don't like?
4) What was it doing before that you preferred?

I do have to reiterate that some sort of size-locking is going to occur. It's unavoidable for a number of technical and consistency reasons. However, I think the problem is that the size-locking is -- in certain situations -- making very small images (?) so I'd like to track that down.

Please note that side-by-side info and description will reduce resized images considerably. One of the things up for consideration is forcing all layouts to put all descriptions under images and allowing images to be larger (550ish px?) .

Thanks!
