Your first cel?
My first cel was
http://nadia.rubberslug.com/gallery/inv_info.asp?ItemID=143920 It was about 1994, I think. I'd always wanted a cel *any cel* to maybe learn more about the animation process from it. An anime dealer in the UK used to send out catalogs which included a list of cels (just a description and price - no picture). On one catalog there was a Nadia cel listed and it was cheap enough to risk buying without seeing it first.
When I received her I was delighted! It ain't my best cel but I'll never part with it.
My first cel was:
http://killua.rubberslug.com/gallery/inv_info.asp?ItemID=222966 I was caught up in the euphoria of reading and watching Hunter x Hunter at the time, and my favorite character was Killua. I wasn't aiming at collecting cels, just HxH merchandise, and bought this off of YJ. It was another 3 years until I started really collecting cels.
My first cel set me back a pretty penny and started my obsession with FY. While my son bugged me endlessly to watch the anime...I put it off for as long as I could (I did not want to watch a cartoon!!)I finally broke down and watched it!! Then came more anime and of course, manga...Had to read it also as books are always better !! I had no clue about cels...to have a picture of my Tamahome!! Priceless.

My first cel was this one:
http://sensei.rubberslug.com/gallery/inv_info.asp?ItemID=16090 . I tell the story on the page, but, in brief, I was just getting introduced to CCS and I was charmed by Kero-chan, so I really wanted a cel with both Sakura and this little guy. This came up on eBay and ended during a time when I was going to be out of town (visiting college campuses with my teenaged daughter) so I left a megabid and as a result overpaid by quite a bit. I felt a little sheepish, until the next weekend when I visited an arts festival and saw a who range of lithos, prints, and photos I could have bought instead. All butt-ugly -- and none of them one-of-a-kind -- and all considerably more expensive than what I'd paid. I've rarely suffered buyer's remorse since then, at least not with the cel or sketch in my hands.
