Time limits for new galleries

Vaporize at your discretion. It seems fair enough. Mods: Banned sites do have the option to e-mail the person who banned them, so just be prepared to discuss your course of action with the owner of such sites.

You could always ban yourself really quick to see what it does. (Should be an unban button there, too. =) )

Well, I thought about this too recently. I thought "gee, there are a whole helluva lot of galleries with absolutely nothing in them".

Then I came across my friends gallery, that he made during the middle of last year. It's not open... it's never been open. He hasn't bought or updated a cel since. They are also DBZ cels, so his gallery might bet "tagged" as one of the troublemaker ones. I can assure you all the cels are in his posession.

My point is that if they aren't open and/or haven't updated and/or don't have anything in them, that there should be an attempt made to communicate with them before the gallery is "deleted" (mods can't delete anyway). Also, if I remember correctly, Jason said that these empty galleries don't take up much space at all. Most of these empty galleries are also closed/never opened. I don't think that too much effort should be put into something that isn't really a problem anyway. If Jason thinks that these galleries ARE taking up too much space, then we should worry about it then. I think that our concerns should be with the open gallery artbook uploaders.

That's my opinion. :)

Actually, we can eliminate galleries from the sight of others...as MODS...although you know it is more like putting something in "solitary confinement". In any case, it can be restored. So, for all intensive purposes the "imprisoned" gallery is unusable and unviewable unless restored. So, in that regard, it is deleted from view.

I honestly don't think that eliminating a gallery that is "false advertising" a gallery for months really has no claim to be treated with any degree of respect. If they want it back they can e-mail us and when can restore it and they can put cels on it; simple as that. Who wants to waste their time exploring false galleries? Not me.

My opinion is that it would better to get to galleries with something displayed, when looking around, instead of just bumping into gallery, after gallery, with someone posting "Hi, I am here with XYZ" and no cels to be viewed for weeks or months, not even one. It is almost like signing up for a free e-mail account and never using it. After a while it just becomes a meaningless statistic. That is my take on it anyway. I am concerned because it is boring, and gives a false sense or reality of actual galleries numerically active. I have already begun to zap them. There are some people that have had two and three galleries so called created and no cels to display, but that is actually the same person fooling around. I have talked about this with Jason for months on end.

I haven't put anything in my gallery in over a year. I thought you meant that you'd want to get rid of galleries that have zero cels. That seems fair. Getting rid of galleries that have something in them is not cool.

You're exactly right jn. I would never harm a gallery, simply because they didn't "update"..
