Cels in cel books
Another question, this time regarding the Itoya books. Which is the sixe of the regular cels in inches so I can choose the best portfolio (in case I get a friend to get me one)? Here we use cms. and not inches and that acould be a bit confusing to me.
Thanks!
Regular cels in inches tend to be 9 x 10.5. I use the 11X14 portfolios for most of my cels, as you can fit normal cels, cels with backgrounds, and movie sized cels in them.
I always seperate the sketch from the cel, if it's not stuck, although I must admit I don't use cel bags. I put a plain piece of white paper behind the cel and put it in my Itouya book. I also didn't know about standing the books upright, which I'll certainly do from now on.
The bane of my existance, though: STAPLES
I hate staples!!! I always remove them. When I worked in the university archives one summer I was told that rusty staples will eat away at paper and destroy it, so they had to be removed, even if there were no signs of rust at the time.
Another thing that eats paper: Post-it note adhesive. It destroys paper in only a couple of years or so.
Like Gabriel said, the 11x14 inch Itoya will fit regular-sized cels. In cm, that's roughly 27.94cm x 35.56cm.
the 11x14 is fine for most cels ive come accross. but i have several cels that are way too big. and seeing as i cant buy Itoya books in this country and have to import them, it might have been a wise idea to go slightly bigger :D
