Retouched cels

If you don't mind what did they get you for it?
If it's not to high it's still a good price because the folks doing fan cels would charge a arm and a leg for Rei cels.
I would like to know who did it, they do nice work.

I don't want to admit what I paid for it. If my wife were ever to read this, she'd kill me. It's a few dollars more than the most I have spent for any cel so far, though. Or putting it another way, in bank terminology it was in the mid three figure range. I don't think anybody would want to pay that much for a fancel.

-The misato one looks off...besides the scar, the nail on your cel is white, while the nail on the screencap is brown...Plus the shading...
-On the Ayami cel, the towel looks of a different color, and her eyes seems to have no black dot.
-I hope your cels are real...
Also...Don't trust yahoo japan. I've seen very realistic fancels, and it is very sickening that people actualy write "REAL CEL" while it is not...It's not that hard to print out the screen cap, trace it, paint it, and make a couple hundred dollars in the process....
-luck!

I have found only 1 seller on YJ I trust for my Gainax Eva cels Godhand777 .
As far as Mandarake autions I have had my own bad experiences which have left me the decsion not ever deal with them again.
Unfortunately there is a "cottage" industry of forgeries of high end cels so it does take a lot of close inspection to spot them. The problem in a lot of cases is the online scans do not provide enough resolution to make a good comparison.
One would be best dealing with a seller that has a good reputation or paying more from a dealer like Asylum or Anime link, sometimes it's worth the extra for the peace of mind.

I can't speak for Eva cels, and I see you list no sketches with this cel. But I do have cels with paint on the front side where the color was wrong on the backside. Usually if you have the matching sketch it will have the area outlined in red or blue pencil with an arrow and a color change note sometimes in Japanese. Here are two DBZ cels with this correction. http://stu.rubberslug.com/gallery/inv_info.asp?ItemID=29861 .
This has the changes marked in blue http://stu.rubberslug.com/gallery/inv_info.asp?ItemID=6101 .
See the matching sketches for the markings. Good luck with finding out more about your cel.
