update limits
If people want to be able to hide their updates, there should be an option to make an update invisible. The limit idea seems strange to me. I think it sounds odd to tell someone they can?t update because they update too often. If people are mad that they can?t see a section, they should email the site owner of the category they want to see and ask for a password. If members are posting junk categories with no images, shouldn?t those offenders be punished, rather than restricting everyone?s access?
Completely agreed.

I'd rather see a "hide update from front page" button. If someone was then to update with a hidden coming soon section whilst that was in place I'd expect them to at least offer the password to people who emailed.

The people posting junk should be dealt with correctly rather than making the site work around the offenders.

Some people may genuinely have more than two updates a week at some times and I certainly wouldn't want them to be restricted on posting their genuine updates for another week. I just think that limiting the times you're allowed to be on the front page is pointless since most updates are genuine.

This site is about sharing your production art collection. If someone genuinely wants to update more than a set limit and can't, I find it unfair and going against what the site is all about.

I hope no one thinks that you can't actually use the site between "updates". No, you can update your site as often as you like. You're free to use anything in the site except the home page announce box. You just can't announce as often as you like.

Here's the question I asked about 2-3 years ago:

What prevents someone from adding a cel and deleting it once an hour, every hour, to stay on the top spot of the home page indefinitely?

Answer: nothing. Nothing ever has. I never proposed this before because I didn't want to be griefed (mmorpg term) before I was ready to deal with it.

Take it out a step further: what if someone had an automated script to log into Rubberslug, upload one thing, and delete it? You'd never, ever fall from the top spot. Ever. I won't explain how to do this, but I assure you that all it takes is one somewhat clever and ill-meaning person with about 15 minutes.

It hasn't been a problem so I haven't bothered to complicate the update process until now.

It's cool that people are so passionate about site exposure and participation, but please try to remember that we're all friends. At least, I'm *your* friend.

Now see there? A man can TOO tell when another man is handsome! ^_^
My husband keeps telling me that's just not right.
Jason, that is indeed a handsome man! *_*
Got one that shows a bit more of him, kind of like the other one shows more of the girl? ~_^
