Do wishlists work?

*hopes they do work so that one day Fuu can find a cel from the third CCS opening*

If someone browses your gallery and sees that they've got a cel you'd give a kidney to own--- what's to stop em from jacking the price, dangling the offer in front of you and watching you squirm as you have to choose between owning a cel or owning _______(insert commodity here). Of course I'm being overtly cynical. If you're truly willing to sacrifice to own that cel than its up to the buyer to set a right price.
My wishlist cels are really generic scenes that I'd be happy to own--- plus, I already sold both kidneys for my dream cel-- can we change that button to "Will sell spleen, liver and/or blood".

It doesn't happen often, but I get the occasional offer for a trade, or e-mail from another member letting me know something on my wishlist is for sale. The wishlists also help me in that, I can see what others want, and if they have something I've been drooling over, there's always the possibility of a trade ^_-...so wishlists have thier uses...

I have rarely ever had anyone contact me for a cel or sketch from my wishlist. 99% of them I find on my own, and the rest, a couple of friends tell me about, not because they look at my wishlist, but because they know me personally and what I like.

Although no one has contacted ME about items on my wishlist, I have contacted many RS members to let them know that wishlist items of theirs have appeared either on eBay or Yahoo!Japan. Not everyone can view every auction, every day. It helps to have friends keep you informed.

For example: now that I have dial-up internet (instead of a nice T1 line), I don't visit Y!J as often. If anyone encountered a Miyuki-chan in Wonderland cel, I'd love for them to let me know! (since the last one that appeared I somehow missed completely, even though the exact scene is on my wishlist)...
