meet the cast

Barring any sudden loss in income, I'll be attending Anime Expo for the first time since 2001. (That's way back before this site opened, yipes.)
Call it Anime Expo Omake. Call it The Other Cel Collecting Panel. Call it A Really Good Chance to Punch Me in the Face. Whatever... it'll be fun.
My first choice is a big kid gathering (21-up) at a nearby pub/bar on either Friday or Saturday night. My second choice would be a lunch or dinner where we could get together outside of Expo. If it's anything except going to a restuarant, it would probably happen after hours (after 9ish or 10ish) so that no one gets pulled out of something they wanted to see.
Right now, it's just me, a few RL college buddies, some people on the site who've e-mailed me about it so far, and a few of the site mods. More people is always fun.
No need to RSVP just yet as we have no idea exactly **what** we want to do. Just drumming up some ideas.
PS - If anyone out there is helping to plan the actual con, could you possibly give me a hint -- even in private if necessary -- what days things are scheduled to occur? It would help planning greatly. Thanks.

I'd love to attend any meeting of RS members. Just let me know when and where the gathering is to be. Friday night would probably be best, that that could change barring the posting of the EXPO programming. There are plenty of restaurants within a 10 minute drive of the Anaheim Convention Center. Of course, there is also Disney Land if we wanted to make it "fun for the whole family..."
You know that hotel down the street from Disney with the Stagecoach Grill (or something like that) in the hotel lobby? It's listed as one of the hotels you can stay at on the expo website.
A waiter there tried to start a fight with me when we were there a few years ago. We were trying to split a check and he refused to do it on the grounds of already closing the tab (highly unlikely), and then he muttered something about "getting off at 10:30 if [I] wanted to start something".
He was pretty ticked... musta had a long day. The fact that all three of us at the table spontaneously burst into roaring laughter must not have helped either.
Ah well. I don't remember a single thing from the con that year except that.
I'll attend it if it held in a non-smoking location. I've a death allergy to second hand smoke (wish I was kidding on this one).

I am trying to make arrangements to attend the con and would love to get together for dinner/drinks or something. I have no preference on what the event will be.
