Titles within Titles

I think this has been brought up before but, it must have been a while ago, I can't remember what was said.
Anyway, would it be at all possible to have a catagorie such as for example "Clamp Series" , then when you click on it you see a list of subcatagories like, "Card Captor Sakura", "Clamp Campus Detectives", "Rayearth", "X/1999", etc.

This would make it possible to organize the galleries so that there are not as many titles on the front page.
It would also be good for something like listing a series name and then listing all the characters or episodes individually.

What do you think, is this possible? I think it would be a useful feature.

I think it would be really great if we could type in a studio name and see all the shows made by the studio represented in Rubberslug. ( Madhouse Pierrot, Bee Train, Gainex, etc...) Or how about typing in a year and seeing all the anime from that year?

If you're talking about subcatagories within user galleries, that's already planned. And since I keep saying that but not showing anything for it, I took a screenshot of the development module.

I'm
not making this up! Seriously! =/

Everyone remember the last episode of Ah! My Goddess where Keiichi takes odd jobs to get a bit of money really quickly? That's sort of what I'm doing. Working on 2-3 projects at once (not including RS and other hobbies) really chews up energy. I don't even have a supernatural love interest to motivate me.

If you're talking about "front page" as in "http://www.rubberslug.com" then it might not be a bad idea, at least as an alternative sorting method. I really would like individual galleries to get top billing to focus more on collectors rather than collections, if that makes sense. To get really philosophical: collections change, but you can learn a lot about the collector by what passes through his or her collection.

I think I'm not understanding the question.... could you explain a bit more?

I think I misread Hyaku's post and assumed it was about the search engine, not the 1st page. I was thinking about the search engine. For example, what if I wanted to know what series were released in 1998? I could type the year into the search engine, then get a list of series for which production art is available. Then I could click on the title I wanted to see lists of galleries that had cels/drawings from it. Same kind of thing with studios. It would be nice to type in a series and get character lists too. Or what if it could sort series by character designer or director ? I know that this is probably too difficult and ambitious, but it would be cool to have! It would turn Rubberslug into a huge research database.

I was only thinking of the front page in the individual galleries.
But, it would be kind of cool if we could type in a production company in the search engine and get all the stuff by that one company. I like that idea.
It is nice to know there's progress on the subcatagories thing. But don't work yourself to death, it's not worth it! We do apreciate all your work though. ^__-
