payment plans

[adminpoll]72[/adminpoll]

Time for a new poll. The other one was starting to get moldly.

Hmmm.... payment plans? I've always scratched my head at this uncommon practice. I mean, if something is causing you to spend an uncomfortable amount on cels, I think that's kinda bad. But then again, you might not ever see whatever it is you're interested in come around again.

What do you think?

I think you hit the nail right on the head. It is a 2 edged sowrd if you ask me. I did try it once and it just didn't feel right to me. I have put Cels on a CC and payed it off over time, but I still like the feeling of "it's mine all Mine HA HA HA HA." and you don't owe anyone but your retirement fund.

To feed the need then it's a great idea. Like you mentioned, payment plans will allow you to get a wishlist cel and still have resources to eat and pay for other problems like rent and tuition. If you can pay it off in a short time, then no worries.

Payment plans also allow you to get more than one wishlist cel that just so happens to pop up at once. @_@

On the down side, growing financial debt is not conducive to one's FICO score. Especially if one's trying to move out and afford a house. :(

Hmmm I'm torn. I have been tempted and technically have had a cel on hold for three years now ( but that is between a super good friend of mine and myself, more of a joke really) and have accepted payment plans on a cel or two in my time. If it is a situation like half now half in two weeks to buffer the hit I think it is a good idea. But if it is a true hardship to come up with the money I stay away, its the reason I don't have that Miyu Hanken!

I like the idea of payment plan, as it allows people to get the more expensive cel without spending more at one time than they normally would. So in that way, I'm all for them. On the other hand, I've never done one myself, nor would I like to be on either end of one. I prefer transactions to be quick and over soon. Alllll about instant gratification over here. ;-)
