higher learning
yep. I'm a junior in college. I went back to class Wednesday.
Urgh, unfortunately, I really couldn't live through the Organic Chem (I didn't have any cool lab partners to help) so I had to bail. And, since I wanted to be a engineer, I only had two choices: either take a year of chemistry or a year of physics. I chose the physics. I'm still not sure if that was the right choice, but I survived it. All I can remember about that time period of my college life, was that I thought I left my brain at home every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
I do have an engineering degree, but similar to lswfan, I'm not currently using it. Instead, I teach mathematics courses to high schoolers. Would I like to pursue engineering again? Of course. But, right now, teaching is a lot less stressful than the work that I had to do as an engineer. It's funny, but the nightmares of coming to my college classes unprepared still frightens me more than the nightmares of unknown horrors (and that includes teenagers).
Starting my 7th year of college next week. A few weeks of one small class then the rest of my semester is student teaching.
Why 7 years you ask? Hint: 2 years of community college without a clue of what my career would be...
I just hope to have my career in place by the time my 10 year high school reunion arrives. ^^;;;;
