Suggestion
I'm not sure if this topic has been discussed before, I skimmed through most of the entries here but didn't see anything.
I was wondering if there could be a way to add sub-categories to series. I see a lot of people just putting the series and then the character's name after but I thought it would be nice to be able to have a format like how the wishlist page has. Here's an example since I'm not good with descriptions *l* :
Series : (non link)
character name (link)
character name (link)
character name (link)
character name (link)
I also wanted to ask if there could be an easier way to organize series on the front page. I know you can use 'Display Near Top' but it still stays in alphabetical order (at least I think it does, I might be messing around with it wrong though).
Yeah, this is sorta in the works. I've been saying that for over a year though. I have to completely redo the database to make this work, and I've been kinda lazy and getting around to it.
You know the links section, how you can add subcatagories under subcatagories, etc?
Works like that. Uses practically the same code, in fact. I have it working in a really elementary way, but I've just been really slacking on development work lately.
Which reminds me... everyone who has sent in features over the past few weeks -- don't give up hope. I'll get to these. I'll try to force myself to do website maintenance during the weekend.
Thanks for letting me know ::)
I will really be looking forward to it, no pressure though ^^ *l*
And when this new feature becomes reality, could you include a way to delete no longer needed sub-catigories? My pull-down names are getting cluttered. (Mostly my own fault, but still that's why pencils have erasers, right?)
Not being able to delete empty catagories because you get the message that says "this catagory isn't empty" is a known bug. Something unusual happens where sometimes you create weird ghost items that you can't delete and they don't show up as actual items. I try to run a script periodically to clean these out and I just ran it a few days ago. Try to delete those undeleteable series now and see if you have any luck. (Assuming you have tried in the last few days.)
