So, like... Isn't those pics VERY old now? Like, really dusty? ;)

Still, I've noe idea if the topic's been on this forum before, though. But I must say: I don't like those name changes!!! ;)

Unless I am mistaken,

You mean "like" LAST month is old? o-O? This story was published in Jan. 17th/04 if my memory serves me correct.

The project itself was only announced by Gainax, Weta, and ADV last summer in itself.[edit: oops, your right, I checked further this announcement was a year ago..dusty and musty..^-^]

The name changes are not good, neither is the girl art, but I'd be surprised if they were even working with a full-script yet or have any actors.

I think the concept art is great though with the mecha.. I want some! (yeah, yeah.. dream on..)

They just chose to shoot for big-budget summer blockbuster instead of arthouse flick. You cannot greenlight a movie for a wide audience -- American and otherwise -- that sexualizes 15 year old children both male and female. Doesn't matter if it's good or not. It's like getting naked at the Superbowl halftime show. Let's ignore the fact that their music sucks... they were obscene!

I think it's pretty obvious with the concept of Rei holding a blaster pistol of some kind that they either a) have no idea what makes Eva special or b) are afraid that they will be unable to communicate a science-fiction picture without storyboarding lots of explosions and big CG shots. At least they picked my favorite episode (10?) to illustrate a good action sequence.

Most troubling is that it seems that the concept artists -- people who work in a *digital animation studio* -- have never seen this ubiquitous modern classic. Unfortunately for them, the audience who will go out and watch this can smell a fake from a mile away. Can you say, "Final Fantasy?"

Oh well. If I had $100-million and make my bank turning forgotten Marvel superheros into lunchboxes, I sure as heck wouldn't invest in some fringe Japanese cartoon anyway. It's all pornography anyway, right?

Sorry 'bout that, mixed a little with the whole EVA Liva announcement itself. ;) But still, can't really say it's news. It IS getting old.

Oh, "Asuka" looks like a 30 year old german wh*re on that pic! Can't understand why they would display her that way, hahaha! :D
