that's a lot of anime
Then we did a Maisson Ikkoku marathon, etc.
The funny thing is, I have these bizarre gaps in my anime knowledge. I've never seen Akira all the way through. I've never seen Maison Ikkoku at all. (And while we're on that part of the anime universe, I've only seen maybe a dozen Ranma episodes. Same for Urusei Yatsura.)

I figured though that someone working an anime con or working in some way to deliver anime to other (club organizer, etc.) people would be among the top anime viewers here.

My big regret, though, is that my knowledge of anything prior to 1990 is flaky and prior to 1980 is almost non-existant. I didn't really start watching anime as a frequent activity until maybe 1999 or 2000. Anyone by any chance know of a good source (book, website, etc.) to find reviews and stuff of older titles?

I have a book somewhere that reviews some old titles, which I found semi-helpful (saw a couple of titles trying to track down). If/when I refind the thing, will post the title. If I remember, it was british guy who wrote it.

You may want to look at:
http://www.bestanime.com/newAniData/list.php

They
have fairly good list of shows. Not all are given a synopsis though.

I refound one of the books I use to find out about some older anime. Covering 1983-1995 is The Anime Movie Guide by Helen McCarthy - I got this used, definitely wouldn't have paid full price as she hadn't seen some or was just going by promo material. The reviews of stuff she had actually seen help, but I just don't care for her writing up stuff it was obvious she really didn't know about. Might check to see if local library has it, don't pay much for it.

"Up to 77 shows" for me. I'm a bit addicted ;) Nah, I really enjoy most shows I buy (well, Hack//Sign truly sucked). And with HK DVDs, one can collect MUCH and FAST due to the low prices...
Really, I get lots of DVD mail. It has even gotten that bad that my mother got angry with my careless spending habits, so I had them all shipped to my classmate so my mum ain't know...
The embarrassing thing is, I had KITE sent to him...

Waiting for Inuyasha 6, Wish you were here, DNAngel 5, GTO, Hare tokidoki Buta & Kimba.
