I gots an idea...

Hey Jason, everyone else...

I just thought about this today. How about a feature that allows the user to have like a little private part of each cel listing? Like, a place I can put how much the cel cost, who/where I bought it from, when i bought it.. etc. It would be nice to have this information put right with the cel. I would prefer it not seen... heh. And it wouldn't have to be set up as an "update" either. Just some helpful stuff to organize my cels. =D

That would be neat. A little too specific for my tastes, but neat.

But cels right now are either fully shown or fully hidden when someone enters the password for the private part of the gallery. I *think* I can make it cough up some hidden fields of a form, but what fields would you want?

Cost:
Purchased from:
Purchase date:

And no matter what, it would show up as an update. For "has this been updated?" I look at the timestamp on when the database entry was modified. I could find a way to reset the update timestamp, but that's one of those "too much work, too little reward" things.

That'll be my new acronym, I think. TMW/TLR.

The other fields are good though. As promised, I still need to put in a "cel number" field for another user. (No, I haven't forgotten!) I can do both at the same time if you just give me a list of fields you want in the new form.

Thanks for letting me know. This isn't a *huge* deal.. but it would be nice (instead of a scrap piece of paper like i've been using, and loosing). :D

Yes.. the fields you mentioned are great. Another one, (unless you think that I am completely anal) is "cel condition". I like to keep track of this as much as i can to know how much it has deteriorated in the time that *i* have had it. You know.. like when you get the cel, the layers *aren't* stuck, and when you go to sell it 3 years later.. the layers *are* stuck. Stuff like that, that people can forget ... :/
Thats all I can think about for fields though.

Cel number is a good idea too ;)

Thanks, and don't worry Jason.. no rush =D I appreciate all the hard work you have been doing for this site! You're fantastic.

And also, a friend of mine (NON cel collector) saw me browsing this site a few days ago, and he said "I really like this site.. it appeals to me!" He couldn't help but try out all the features. Great work. :D

The add cel form has the new fields, but not the edit cel form. You can see the additional info by entering the gallery password. "Condition" is broken ATM. You can change it all you want, but it'll still show up as 0.

This will be polished more tomorrow. The forms are terribly painful to update (did you enter non-numeric characters for "number of sketches"? did you leave the item name blank? etc.etc.etc.) and they will be the first thing to be redone under a new system.

I hate those forms more than anything on the site now. I get a massive headache just trying to make sure all the form fields are in order and not storing your cel info in some weird location where I'll never find it again. I'll cut and paste feature images all day, but I don't think I want to add any more form fields until I redo the forms themselves...

Much more will be done after some mindless errands tomorrow morning/early afternoon.

I'm sorry you're going through all this trouble and pain. If it is too hard or complicated, you don't have to worry about it! We'll be fiiiiiine. ;) After all, this was just a suggestion. :D

I like how you added the persons gallery next to thier post.. that's *very* cool.

I appreciate everything you've done! Thank you, enjoy your pocky and relax ;)
