Anime beta down?

Sigh.... -_-; The host is being a pain in the ass. Apparently they don't like our scripts, queries, etc and want us to change some things before they allow the websites to be up again. They have generously opened up our cpanel for us again to allow us to fix these "issues".......jerks. So needless to say it may be awhile. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

That's odd. I thought beta ran a phpbb forum which I think is a pretty common website program and they should support it without too much ado. Ah but I've had problematic hosting providers before... Too bad it's paid to 2011... Hope you get it up though.

Yeah, but beta probably has a lot of modifications on it that might affect security.

You know, I don't want to sound ... like a know-it-all or anything here, but perhaps it's time to upgrade Beta to either a newer BB app or a less-often-hacked one. phpBB for better or worse is used so much that it's a prime target all the time, and thus the subject of great scrutiny by hosting companies. Either that or upgrade Beta's phpBB version to the latest and drop a lot of the modifications. I'm actually using Beta's old host, and while I occasionally have service issues with them, I've never had them disable any of my pages for script vulnerability (and I run an open source BB app there, too). Just my two cents, for whatever it's worth ^_~. -zerospace

Well we're guessing now that Cloud is the issue. Alec has been pretty good with updates and such. However the latest update required for the board is so detailed that he hasn't had time because of work/study issues. That being said, that particular update shouldn't have caused this issue which leads Alec to think it's Cloud. Cloud is old and has never been updated nor can he be updated. The problem here is that in order to get to Cloud we need to actually log into Beta which is something the host isn't allowing us to do......yet. We're working on that. At this point Magician is doing back-ups and checking files and shopping around for other hosts while I deal with our current host and try to get them to be more specific with us. As for lunarpages....our previous host....we will never go back to them. While we didn't have site outages like we have now, they would instead just go into beta and change files names without asking us or telling us. -_-; That created other messes from behind the scenes. Either way once beta is up, whether on the current host or the new one, updating will be tricky since Magician has been VERY busy with work/studying and we don't know what will break when the update is getting done. So...there's the latest. Fun times. LOL. ^_^; I'll keep everyone posted as information comes available. I'm having withdrawls too. ^_^;
