DBZ / SM Toei Cel Blue Folder Qustion

Hello we were told this is the place to go for help on some questions that we have. We are in Tokyo and deal in Japanese toy and hobby items. We have acquired some Toei Animation Studio Cels that are from SailorMoon, and Dragonball Z. They are all sealed in a Toei open window blue color folders. Could somebody here shed a little light on these to us, as we are not familiar with these kind of cels. (Not sure how to add more links, just change to c2.jpg and c3.jpg to see the rest.)

Hiya!

As far as I know, these are regular production cels. I have bought a handful of Sailor Moon cels that came in these blue folders over the years.

The only difference from other production cels I've noticed is that the cels/background are often trimmed down a little bit and sometimes the cel sequence #'s are missing. I wonder if Toei did that so they would fit in the folder.

I have heard that Toei used to give away some cels for free at promotional events in the past and I always wondered if they put the giveaway cels in these blue folders. But, that's just a guess.

I hope that helped you a little bit, at least. ^_^

P.S. Will you be selling these cels? Could you please email me at lunaartgal [at] gmail [dot] com? I have a couple of questions for you. ~Thank you!!

Hello and welcome to RS! I thought I would add that the folder packaging seems to have disappeared by the final two seasons. Toei generally sealed items in the later seasons with a sticker that was placed on the cel bag.

Will you be selling any of these cels? If so, I would be interested in acquiring them. Could you please contact me at cutiebunny[at]gmail[dot]com.

I look forward to hearing from you ^_^
Thanks!

wow! You have some really beautiful cels there!!!! ^_^

As far as I know, they're genuine production cels. I have one in a frame as well. With the price I had to pay, it had better be genuine! :P Mine has a sequence number but the background is unmatching. And if you search for "Toei Frame" here on RS, you'll find a few more. Mine has an original price printed directly on the frame on the backside, do these?

I don't know the exact reason for the frame, someone better informed than I might know. I assumed they were sold directly from Toei, but I don't know.

Add me to the list of people interested if you're selling! :)
