One for all, or all for one?

So, I was wondering as I typed a smart alec remark...

What type of collectors are y'all?
Do you focus on one character, with a sprinkling of others thrown in so folks won't think you're obsessive?
Or do you collect them ALL, and never find the ONE that really does it for you?


I'm sure this has been asked before, but there's enough new blood here, that there should be some new answers. ^_^

I usually collect only Kenshin from Seisouhen (with Kaoru of course!!!). But not excluding Goemon and Snufkin ;) ;) (I like bishies, like you pervy ;) :P :P)

So I focus on one (or two or three :P :P)

So your question is about how we collect our characters?

I tend to focus only on collecting certain characters from a series, but if there isn't much artwork from a series around then I might loosen up the criteria a bit and go for characters I'm not specifically after. Usually though I'd only try to get one or two pieces of artwork of these "lesser" characters if they are shown by themselves.

If I already have what I consider to be a "decent" quantity of artwork from a series, I might collect some of the "lesser" characters I'm not specifically after. But usually I'd only do that if that anime is one of my all-time favorites. For non-top favorite anime, I usually just try to go after the characters that I liked the most on the show.

I've kept a running favorite anime character list for six years. It helps keep my mind focused on which character I like the most and how much I like them compared to the others. It helps keep me from chasing Favorite Anime Character Flavor of the Month if you know what I mean. In the frenzy to acquire artwork, it's always good to keep your priorities in mind. ^_^

I used to collect from many series, but after my hiatus in 2006 I came back with only three titles in mind: DBZ, Tenshi ni Narumon and Windaria.

Surprise, surprise...I only collect the main male characters from DBZ and Tenshi ni Narumon.
From Windaria I like all nice cels.

I basically do find the cels that do it for me, but the problem is; I want more of those ;)

I think our collection is famous (or infamous) for being character-inclusive. We started our collection because we were impressed with the character design from many series, not just specific characters. There are a few series in the collection that focus on a single character, but the vast majority of our hoard contains most or all of the characters from each series.
