bought
from originalanimearts on the 15th of june. still no sign of it.

sorry but i need to vent some rage. i absolutely loved this setup when i saw it pop up on ebay originally. (nov 05) unfortunately at the time i was on holiday in london, and wasnt sure if i could use the credit card i make purchases with on ebay. the next day i checked and it had been bought by someone else with buy it now. as you can imagine, i was sad!
fast forward to june 06 and by chance i see it pop up on ebay again. extatic, i bought it immediately. it turns out the original buyer didnt follow through with his purchase.
a month and a half later i was extremly concerned that the cel hadnt arrived yet. i email the seller (originalanimearts)to see what was going on. no reply. i thought he might be busy and gave him a while. still no reply.i emailed again. no reply. over the next month i emailed him many times, not a single response. not one. i even email from several accounts (just in case there was something wrong with my hotmail one by some freak chance).
too long had passed. i thought it was time to open an ebay despute. to which, amazingly (!) no reply from the seller. extremely annoyed i decided to leave neggative feedback (my first in over 120 successful transactions)
immediately, the seller sends me a request, asking to remove it.amazing, cant reply to my emails, but can instantly respond to a neggative feedback. nothing about the state of my cel, or a refund.

i managed to get a full refund through my credit card company.however, as you probabaly all know from your own experience, the cel was worth (to me anyway) a hell of a lot more then the money. that scene in particular really stuck in my head when i first saw the film as a young impressionable kid, and owning it seemed like something special. to think its now rotting in some undelivered section of a post office, the layers all sticking together, upsets me greatly.

i checked the sellers feedback and to my suprise, several more neggatives were listed just after mine. two seperate people also emailed me in connection with this, they hadnt recieved artwork either.

so what am i trying to say? well, on a whole, this ebay seller (ORIGINALANIMEARTS..just in case you missed it)does have a lot of positive feedback.
BUT if something goes wrong, he wont respond. he wont resond to your emails, your disputes. he may respond to your neggative feedback however, but simply asking you to remove it.

now, i'm off to cry over my lost cel :(

I'm sorry that happened. It's a great cel from a memorable scene. I've dealt with that seller before (for a genga), and had some issues with slow shipment.

However, they did respond to my e-mails but I still filed a report with ebay for an "item not received" after about a month. When they did send it they included another partial genga from the same scene, which was very nice.

I haven't felt like dealing with them since, although I do like their items. I'll be extra careful in the future.

i really like a lot of their stuff too.
however this has totally tarnished them as far as im concerned. shame really.

from what ive gathered, they seem to take about three weeks from after you make the purchase to actually send the cel out. this i wouldnt actually have had a problem with, as i'm from Ireland, so i generally have to deal with long international shipping as it is.

it was the lack of comms that annoyed me.

actually, amazingly enough, just after i posted that message, i sent an email to the seller and he actually replied. first time in three and a half months.
said he was moving house so couldnt reply to any webmail. hmmm. i dunno. even if you are moving house, you should keep your ebay commitments sound.
if you cant, then dont list anything...
he said he'd try and find where it was.

i wont be holding my breath

He seems to claim that the post office messes up alot. Isn't that convenient, considering he seems to experience post office issues at a much higher rate that good sellers. It couldn't possibly be that he's irresponsible and too much of a coward to take responsibility and so just lies when he says "oh, the post office messed up, and it took months for them to return the item to me, along with several other packages from the same time frame". Or maybe he's just incapable of properly addressing a package; he certainly doesn't have a handle on using email to actually communicate with the people who are being screwed over by the "post office".

we'll he admitted he made a mistake. he incorrectly labeled the mail with its proper outgoing forms. (meant to be three, he only put two on) so the item sat in the post office for 3 months, and was then sent back.

he didnt reply to my mail as was moving house and only had access to webmail.

i know this all sounds fishy, but from looking at his feedback, it sounds believable. its pretty perfect, then all of a sudden about 8 or 9 people dont get any cels and start leaving neg. i think he basically made this mistake multiple times in the same batch.then started moving house and didnt get any of the incoming mail about the problem.

i'm not excusing his actions. i just wanted to state that they weren't malicious and he wasn't trying to screw me over. just a mistake on his behalf.
