Cels destroyed during shipping?

Good insights Roy, thanks for sharing!

I too hope the seller takes some responsibility for this, but again they might play hardball so... lesson learned next time, consider paying extra for insurance if the cel is even worth buying. Keep us posted.

Will do.

Haven't heard back from the seller yet.

I have bought cels from this dealer in the past, and they always showed up fine, cept I always used EMS rather than SAL.

The packaging was also different this time, rather than a rigid clear (prolly mylar) thick portfolio with the cels in it it was that floppy black piece of junk.

Reminds me of the despair.com quote: It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others. :D

Yup, I know anything other than the clear hard plastic folders IMO is a POS. Many JP sellers just do not understand the need to pack it really well, I've received my share of cels via EMS, but it was poor packing that did them in. Ultimately IMO if the seller doesn't pack it securely enough the chances the fragile cel getting damaged is so much greater, it is pathetic.

*rant* On this note, sometimes I also wonder if the sellers actually get this concern when I explain to them in English do not use cardboard. I've experienced situations where many try to use cardboard and I am like WTF, for the monies I am spending on this cel get a blasted plastic folder, I am paying for it! *end rant*

Sort of jumping onto Momo's rant; staying on topic:

Just yesterday I received a cel from a Japanese ebay seller. The thing came in one of those rubbery plastic bags (you know, it doesn't rip easily but it's painfully thin and floppy, like a glorified trash bag), had a piece of foamboard for stiffness, which was cut too short and as a result you could feel the cel bending right through the envelope. Of course, there wasn't any cel bag included, just the poor naked cel...
The cel survived for the most part (no chemical burns, that's absolutely horrible Gront!), but what bothers me the most is that I paid extra for padded packing, and if this was it...*shudder*
I don't think I'll be leaving any feedback for this one.

The problem with Japanese sellers is that they dont know how BAD the other countries Postal Services are. Think it was Australia and Japan that have the best Postal Service, so the way they pack is the way they think is safe (shipping within Japan). You can send a cel in a trashbag in jp, and the chances of it delivered without a dent is 99%.

If words dont get through to them, send them a picture of the case. Those plastic cases are available all over the place. Nor is B4 the only size, but the most common.
