Cels destroyed during shipping?
I looked and that was positively horrifying. Poor little defenseless cels never had a chance....
I hope you can get satisfaction from this seller. And if you don't, tell us who it was.
OMG I never expected them to be that bad!
I am so sorry that happened to you :( :( They look horrible..... ;_;
I hope you can get contact to the seller.....
This type of damage is caused by a oil based cleaner or some kind of spray or liquid with oil in it.
the yellow is a chemical burn not a heat burn,heat will only make them wrinkle not turn yellow.
Hand creams and baby oil and some meds can also cause this type of burn.
sometimes oil based stuff is used to hide microscratches on the cels that have been on a background and the sand from the watercolor paint sands the cel itself and gives a frosted look to the cels. If this oil based item is not removed it will burn the cel and turn it yellow in time.
Also some glues used on folders when heated give off fumes that will also burn them.
Alcohol on a soft rag can sometimes remove the oil so no more damage takes place,But once the damage is done it can not be removed most of the time,After using the alcohol use distilled water to remove any film left on the cel and let the cel dry a day or two before you store them.
be real careful around the linework on the front the oil can make the xerox toner to come off the front of the cel,one good thing is the lines can be restored very easy with a toner pen like the ones used at the studios for touchups on production cels at shooting time.
I hope the seller will help you out, at the least give a discount for them.
if you got them from me I would give your money back and let you keep them for the all the hassle.
Good luck!!!
