Yahoo Japan Translation Help

Hello fellow RS visitors. I need some translation help with a Macross auction on Yahoo japan. I can't figure out if the cel is original or a copy, even with Rinkya's translation service. Can someone give me the background detail on this auction?

It looks like the whole thing is a copy - if you look at the bottom part it translates out as "the color copy of the animation cel with a background". Looks like you get a B4 sized color copy of the cel and background. The auction states in a few places it is just one sheet of paper.

The hook seems to be that it was purchased at some special event 10 years ago and part of a 14 copy set. Possibly a dedicated Macross collector might know more about this.

The way I read it is that it is a laser copy of the opening animation.

Others such as Mokman or GB can tell for sure but I would think like most animations the mecha would be a seperate layer and not part of the background.

Hey there baron, I have been looking at this auction as well. I am sceptical about it. The translation definately says copy in it. It just looks way too clean also. Either it is a laser copy or the collector kept it in pristine shape. If you look closely you can see the registration holes and slight outline of what would be the cel but again it is without flaw. Granted it is only a picture of the piece, but I cannot see any depth what so ever that you would expect to see from a cel laying on top of a background. I suspect someone took the original background and centered the cel on top of it and put the whole thing on a large color copier and ran off a few sheets. I don't trust it either because the listing states that it was bought at a Tokyo event where the 14 sheet Hayase set was bought. I believe that is refering to the set of Misa Hayase sketches that has been offered and purchased about 10 different times on YJ and is most certainly copies.

Did you also notice that the exact same item, cel # A16 and all, is being offered in two seperate auctions? I think the seller has two copies of the same thing and is auctioning off both of them. Well all that being said it is of course up to you what you think something like that might be worth. I don't think 3000yen is all too bad of a price even if it is a copy but after the Rinkya fees to get it to you I am not so sure.
