new home page

Well, you got me. I was totally phoning it in.

I need to spend some time on the gallery update part. I don't like the gallery update block, the feature thing, and the navigation header. Everything else is about how it should be.

This'll probably take longer than I thought. Oh well, I've had this on the lst for a while.

I'm a little late but I wanted to add my 2 cents. I vote for #5 bold. I come here for the galleries. I love seeing who updated what. I only read the blogs when I'm directed to them. Never turned on mine.

Good luck with your changes! And thanks for all the hard work you do, Jason! :)

5b is definately my favourite layout. Keeping the Featured gallery/News/Poll etc running vertically down the left is good and in contrast I like to see the Updated/Sales sctions run horizontally.

The band of Updated Galleries on top works well and the Sales section on the bottom is perfect.

When I first visit the RS hompage, my eye is always drawn to the images in the centre of the screen so by having the Galleries icons here (which I'd consider to be the most important info) it's successful.
Viewing them left to right works best for me too.

Might it be possible to change the background hues to the Galleries, Weblogs, Sales sections in order to differentiate them further? The white text isn't enough to define these three parts.
For example, the Galleries could be 'charcoal grey', the Weblog section could be 'maroon', the Sales section 'charcoal grey'...

Adding the Forum updates block is also good because it highlights the interactivity of this community.

5B please :)

I like the BOLD...and I agree with Krafty's suggestion to change colors to differentiate the sections better.

Thanks Jason!
