Well as most (not all) sellers on YJ do not ship outside of Japan you are really gonna have to use a deputy service to bid for you.

Rinkya dont actually require a deposit as such you do have to offer a deposit amount which I dont think they acually charge you (it was a long time ago I started with them so I could be wrong here) this just denotes your max bid amount (5x your deposit). You can pay via paypal but you still have to have a CC registered with them. Oh and check out the fee structure. They have a real time bidding system.

Another option is Celga. With them there is no sign up fee all you have to do is send them 50% of your max bid in advance then they will manually put the bid on for you about 6 hours before the auction end BUT you cannot increase your max bid if someone outbids you. again check out there fee structure. Oh and the first person to ask them to bid gets priority. Once you have used them for a while you can get a Gold account which is your own YJ account but they take care of it all for you, you just bid.

There is also Shopping Mall Japan. I have personally never used them myself but Everyone that I know that uses them thinks they are great. Again real time bidding like Rinkya and you have to have a CC to register.

There are a couple of others around but I dont really know much about them.

Hope that helps

According to the terms of service they require a deposit, to order stuff.. 20 dollars will let you bid to 100 dollar and so on..
havent checked celga yet but i will do that..

another question does yahoo jp work the same as ebay, where you put in a maximum bid and it will go above the current bid, and only when someone else bids your total ammount increases until your maximum, or does your maximum bid equal the bid you do. for instance the current bid is 25 dollar my maximum bid is 100. does it become 26 and increases with new bids, or will it be 100 instantly? And what do you pay at rinkya/celga your maximum bid or the closing bid?

thanks for helping me out!!

I am not exactly sure this will answer your question....

YJ is a slightly different from ebay.

For example, suppose I am bidding maximum 1,500 yen on an item starting with 1,000 yen. Then I want to increase the max bid to 2,000 yen. Then I bid one more time but the current bid does not change, not like ebay..... (i.e., staying with 1,000 yen in this example....).

So, if someone bids me out, then it becomes more than 2,000 yen. But unless other bidder bids against you the current bid does not change.

I hope it helps ^_^

so you manually have to bid, every time someone increases.. so your example you couldnt just say my maximum is 5000 yen but with a current bid this will be 1500 and everytime someone else bids your bid will autoincrease untill you reach the 5000?
