Do cels eventually fade? Say no

Hello Rei2Rei,
As klet said put the cel in one bag and put the drawing in another bag you can tape them together with framers tape or acid free matte tape to add stiffness to the cel, Or you can tape a matte board to the back of the cel bag on the outside to make it stiff enough to stand up, I use this way for my more costly cels and place them in a hanging file folder.
As for putting drawings in a cel bag, This is a must if you want your drawings not to yellow with time, It keeps the moist air from getting to paper, The moist air is what causes the drawings to yellow when the water from the air causes the acid to burn your drawings,So covering them is always best for long term storage and never keep them with the cels as they can burn your cels.

Hello Relena,
Cel bags are a must to use even if you use a storage book always use a cel bag and then put it in your book so it does not stick to the cel book pages.
As far as storage you can use a cel book or a hanging file folder or a cel box, but make sure you never use any kind of cardboard around your art work as it is very acidic and will yellow or burn your artwork.

The Paper can be removed by using a little bit of distilled water and the soft part of your thumb to very lightly rub the paper off the cels.
TAKE YOUR TIME DON'T HURRY!!!!
Do not use your finger nail as this can scratch your paint off.
use the inside of a cotton T-shirt to blot dry the cel after you remove the paper.
Let the cel dry over night before you store the cel to make sure no water remains on the cel.
Water is used to clean the cels before they are shot on film at the production companys to remove finger prints dust ect. so a little bit of water will not hurt your cel, but take your time always.

I hope this helps some.

Yes I can attest to this on one of my first attempts.
Luckily it was a freebie cel I was practising on.

Thanks for all your help! ^_^

I just have one more annoying question (Yeah. You probably answered it somewhere. Sorry.).

Ok! My most expensive cell, when I bought it was sealed up in a bag with the sketch. Would it be best for me to somehow open it up and separate them? Or, since it's sealed up, is it ok?

Thanks again. And sorry for all the questions.

Hello Rei2Rei,
It's best to put them in there own bags but if the drawing can not be removed, keeping them sealed in a cel bag will slow down any damage to the setup.
On page three of this thread you will find 2 links to the pages were I talk about removing drawings from the cels.
Please read all the posts in both threads to find out about removing drawings from there cels, It's very important that you read all the risks about doing this as you can ruin your cels very easy if you don't read all the posts on this thread and the other two threads.
These are just hints and helpful tips to do this if you don't feel that you can do it DON"T, Have a gallery do it for you as that is what they do all the time but it will cost you.
Try these tips on a cheap cel or two before you try any of the tips on a costly cel so you get a idea of how it's done first.
I hope this helps out some.
