Collection size and how did you start?

Hehe Ebay!
On one of my many ebay shopping sprees i came across a anime cel *SHOCK* i can actually own cels?..... And my wallet has been crying ever since.

On RS i have about 250
Waiting to be scanned 60 (or so)

In transit (lost count)

My excuse.... art history preservation!

I still swear you can buy anything on ebay!

Same as me I was on a ebay shopping spree when I won the auction for a majin buu cel. I heard that cels are what was used to animate the show. Also it was in my old budget so I was happy.
I've been collecting for two years now and it seems that my spending limit increases every 5 months. I own almost 125 cels. And a few sketches & dougas. I'd like to thank sellers for payment plans, this helped me a lot. I don't even want to know the total amount spent on all these cels(though I'm sure it's enough to go on 2 summer vacations).

Oh man what have I gotten myself into! ^_^

It surprises me how clueless I was. I actually liked anime plush before I collected, and was looking through somebody's plush collection, then I saw these pictures (they were cels) and I thought 'hm... I've seen that picture in the anime' Why is it just a picture? why are there so many? And why do they have no background to them? Why is it all white? Then the gallery owner told me they were cels. Cels... cels... Cels... Hm... I looked around for cels from the latest series I was watching from - Fushigi Yuugi. And then I looked at people's rs galleries and offered some money on some of them, and one of the owners were really kind and directed me to a dealer site and that's when i bought my first two cels. There were many droolicious goodies there too! ^_^ Enough to feed my addiction!

Current amount of art (cels/sketches): 33 ^_^

Most of my gallery is composed of sketch sets - sketch sets from Naruto, my latest addiction, lol XD
But hopefully I can expand my gallery, and there are few more anime that I want to get art from, so I'll keep my fingers crossed. ^_^

I started collecting when I saw a picture of someone's room, who had cels framed, so I thought I'd do the same. But I got hooked and I keep ordering cels. >.< I only started collecting this month and I currently have only 1 in hand, 1 is being shipped and I just won a cel in YJ! :D

I try not to count, as its kind of scary.

As for how I started, I was actually looking for a figure and stumbled upon a dealer that also carried cels - I didn't even know you could buy them at that point. I bought 3 cels I believe ( 2 Battle Athletes cels and one Photon cel) and it was all downhill from there.
