Framing a Douga ? Is it common ?

Hi,

Thanks for all helping members here I have pulled the trigger and bought my first ever anime cel - and what a cel - Ninja Scroll's Benisato from a profile - She looks so classy japanese woman without those even eyes and pointed chin. It is a key cel that came with a matching douga. I am considering framing the douga in a seperated frame with same size next to the cel.

What do you think ?
For those of you who frame & display their cels, do you also frame the douga ?

Will appreciate your comments on this
Thanks

Hello Alon3232,

On the cels I have framed I have not yet framed the douga only due to having limited wall space. There is nothing wrong with framing both, in fact a lot of collectors only have the douga or genga framed.
On several pieces of my comic book artwork I had a large custom frame made to display both the original page as well as the colored production page from the book.

Put them both in the same frame you know like a before and after type of thing.
Now you can open your RS gallery!!!!!
good luck collecting.
I saw a few ninja scroll cels in the RS shop check them out.

Glad you got that Benisato cel AG, that's great!
You can frame both the cel AND douga in the same frame, you just need a mount with two rectangles cut out instead of one. I have a cel and douga that's displayed like this:

It
may be cheaper and easier for you to have one large frame rather than displaying the artwork separatly.

Sorry to put a dampener on your new Ninja Scroll collection AG but I've already worked out a deal with Chris who had the dougas for sale on RS. More will come along in the future.
