Please help ^_^.
I hate not knowing a cel number, but I have no clue on this one:

I scanned in the number, but I have absolutely no clue what it means. Could some of you nice, wonderful people who have been collecting a lot longer than me help me out? I'll give you a cookie :).

This looks like A end cel, Does this cel stay on the screen for a few frames and the pic changes to a new view?
The top number looks like 212 this can be a cut, production or scene number.
The bottom looks like (A end)?
On some cels I've seen this squigle was on a end cel sorry but I don't have it any more to check.
I've seen A end, and it had no number because this is the only cel used in this scene, Maybe?
O' by the way take that nasty looking staple out of your very nice cel it will rust and mess up your cel setup.
If you have more that are stapled please take them out.
On the back of your cel bend the staple prongs strait out and push it out from the back don't pull from the front as you may dent your cel.
Someone else here may have one like yours to look at and could tell you more but thats what it looks like to me from your pic.

Thanks for your reply. I'm closer to understanding what I'm seeing.
As for the sequence I had to dig out my Troopers DVDs to check the episode. Unfortunately this cel is not the only one in the sequence. It is held for a moment, though.
Thanks for the advice on the staples. They're gone :).

The 212 could also be the background number.
Scenes are broke down into cuts and one scene can have many cuts to make it up.
The cel you have maybe a hold cel or end cel, There is a end cel in every cut of a scene and if you see a (A end,B end ect) on your cel this cel was used for the whole cut it was in and can be on screen for a short or long time, if you watch DBZ that show uses alot of hold/end cels.Ok drawings, cg now.
some of the cuts use hold/end cels to take up time on screen.
This type of cel is not always used by itself but can have other toons moving in the same scene cut but most of the time this type of cel is behind the action or toon movement but not always.
You can also have a (A End) cel that stays on the screen and does not move but the mouth, eyes, hair ect move on another cel and or cels that are placed on top of the (A END) cel for that cut.
Some end cels have a letter/number/END, These are the end of a cut that may have many cels to it and this is the last one in that cut for the scene.
I hope this helps you out some.
