Framing a cel - where to start
Hello AG,
Either way will work, it depends on what you want.
Some display their cels so you can see the entire painted surface while others try to match the screen capture that is a tighter shot of the cel.
Ok,
Here is my cel BEFORE final framing (still waiting for UV/Non-glare acrylic to arrive).

So this is just an option for the colors of the puter matte (black) and background (light purple).
Outer frame should be black aluminum.
What do you think of this combination or colors ?
Any suggestions before I go to the framer ?
Thanks !

Since you are the one who will look at it each day go with the setup you are most happy with.
That is a great cel and is well worth the effort you are putting forth to display it properly.
Good luck,
Joe
Nice cel,
Make sure you use acid free mattes as this is the only part to touch your cel, Buy the best mattes you can get and you'll never go wrong.
Cheap mattes will fade with time good ones will not.Worth the cost!!!
Enjoy your new cel and keep it out of the light.
Note: UV rays can come though blinds and drapes,
If you can see light? it's coming though so take the light into thought when you put it on the wall.
UV glass only blocks UV's not heat or other light that can hurt your cel.
Have fun collecting.
Roy
note: use flat colors on your frames as this will cover any dings or scratches that may come with time unlike glossy color that will show everything that touches it forever.
